Help
for Struggling Homeowners
The Senate
worked this week in a bipartisan fashion to successfully pass
legislation to help struggling homeowners, better educate borrowers,
and stimulate the economy. To help southern Nevadans facing
foreclosure, I recorded a Public Service Announcement highlighting
the efforts of the Neighborhood Housing Service of Southern
Nevada.

Meeting
With Nevada Veterans
This
week I met with a group of veterans from across Nevada to talk
about solutions to improving and meeting their healthcare needs.
The group was in town as part of the Vets for Freedom national
bus tour and day on Capitol Hill. The tour is part of their
efforts to ensure that we are doing all we can to support our
men and women in uniform and those who have served our nation.
It is absolutely critical that our country uphold its responsibility
to our veterans. I am committed to ensuring that our veterans
receive the treatment and care they deserve and were promised.
Academy
Information Session
Each year the Congressional delegation hosts Academy Information
Sessions in Las Vegas and Reno to give high school sophomores
and juniors interested in a military education a chance to ask
questions and discover the opportunities available to them at
the United States service academies. Our academies allow young
adults to pursue a higher education while developing a strong
work ethic and character in the process. I encourage interested
students and their parents to attend these informative events
to have their questions answered and to better gauge whether
this is the right choice for them.
